Owl Mural

After 12 years of collecting Marker Caps, we have started to make a 3-d Relief.  We are running out of marker caps, so we are on the lookout for more!

Andy Warhol & Pop Art inspired these paintings by our Third Grade Students

Georgia O'Keeffe Inspired Watercolor Paintings - 4th Grade

Yes, we added a drizzle of black glue to the paintings for a bit of drama.  (Glue made with white glue and tempra paint)

Second Grade Abstract Art - Influenced by Maps

First Grade Shapes and Color

Wonderful Clean colors and great lines and shapes!  Well done First Graders!

Fifth Grade went Wild

Fifth grade students have created awesome relief masks made from recycled materials.  They are whimsical and creative.  What great use of junk, trash, and throw aways!

Sunflower samples

Van Gogh Sunflowers

Well we are off to a fantastic start.  My classes are large and I have many.  A total of 500 kids.  I'm starting with a lesson on Van Gogh, poor guy.  He didn't have a very good life, but he finally got his due.  My students were very taken with his tragic life and the possibility of becoming famous after death.  I'm posting a photo of my Van Gogh Bulletin board and some of my samples of the Art project.  I will post students work when it's completed.

We are starting off with an entire school project.  Learning about Van Gogh and his struggles.  Every student K-6 will create a Sunflower (our halls will be filled with Sunflowers).  :)  Pictures to come soon!

February

Hi all

Sorry I've not posted lately, but I've been away from teaching for 4 weeks.  The first week, with the flu/cold.  Then I took family leave to help my daughter and her new baby boy - my first grandson.  We have already completed our first Art Lesson.  It was a plaster cast of his feet and hands.  It turned out great. Photos soon!
