Well, my art room is packed up and my storage room is clean. It took me about a week. Now we wait and then start over again in August.
In the meantime, go out and draw, color, or do leaf rubbings. Visit a museum, go visit a trade shop (glass blowing, pottery painting, beading). Go to a Zoo or Park and sketch.
Just have fun and day dream!
Hi, I just found your blog and noticed your posting about SchoolArt Fairs. I wonder about your opinion. We tried this a couple of years ago, and I was left a little frustrated. First of all, (obviously) all the artwork has to be the same size, and mostly horizontal. Second, and most important, I teach in a rural community, and parents felt pressured to buy artwork, even though there was no obligation. Kids were in tears when daddy or mommy said no, and those parents with 3 or 4 kids in school felt an even heavier financial obligation, as the cost for one picture multiplied really added up. I won't use this method of holding an art show again, even though it was easy and convenient.
